Flash Catalyst Ideas
When I choose my SWF Asset to be assigned to more states than just State1, my whole SWF disappears when I test it with ctrl+enter. My SWF file plays 1 time, then its supposed to be were it went and act like an image. Did that with a little "close()" actionscript piece in my SWF.
Long story short, SWF Asset works in State1, but nothing works when shared with all other States.
Hope you guys understand what I mean because it's a big issue to me. |

In components with multiple states, sometimes I want to share an element across multiple states at once instead of one by one. |

Tags: state transition A lot of times I will set up a transtion, say:
"State A" to "State B"
and want the *inverse* transition to happen for
"State B" to "State A".
Right now you have to do this manually; for complex transitions, this is a pain, ESPECIALLY when tweaking things; you have to keep track of what you changed in one transition and manually duplicate this in the other. It is very tedious, and it's something that I do a lot.

Tags: apply properties same state It would be IMMENSELY helpful if the already wonderful "Make the same in all states" action, could be customized more precisely, so that when I make a change and want to apply it, I don't have to repeat the steps of either doing each state manually or "apply-all-ing" and then undoing those changes to states I didn't want it to change: such as page one, where it is offscreen, or a page where it is enlarged (you get the idea?). It would be nice if there were wild cards like this one: *dupes or *clones or something to describe a state in which the object is "presently" the same as the active one - (and of course I must explain presently would actually have to be intelligent enough to recognize that it's referring to the properties JUST PRIOR to the changes, as it would obviously not be the same if a change was just made...). |

Tags: component interaction library state Hi,
I've been messing around quite some time with Catalyst. It is a very valuable tool, I must say. One of the major blocking points I've run into is the impossibility to control the state of a component's parent. This makes it difficult to design reusable components in libraries, if they can only control their siblings and children. I hope this is clear enough...

Simply be able to pick a sound file that plays when a state happens, such as mouseover. Music would be nice too. I'm thinking of this as being helpful with flash game developement. |
