I am working on a project in Catalyst CS5 and am at a stage that I would like to inject a small AS3 code to see if I can get it working without going into Builder. Example - wireframes a clock in my work. Now I have the actionscript for a real clock and want to put it in, however I can't do that in cat. However I am not ready to take it to Builder yet. So if I could inject some complete AS3 code from Flash into a symbol, that would be AWESOME!

I like FC now that I am surmounting the considerable learning curve.

I have some feature requests that I think would help this program live up to its billing.

1. Support for video using H.264 encoded videos.  This is not only a superior video codec, but also would allow the use of Multi-pass encoding which, in my opinion, is essential for good results with high motion video content.

2. Support for standard mp4 video format.  Using mp4 encoding (Squeeze 6) results in video files which cannot be imported into FC.  Even after renaming these files to the .f4v extension does not work.( it does work in Flash Professional).  Squeeze does not provide f4v encoding and I have contacted them (Sorenson Media) about this issue.

3. Effects for objects beyond the simple transforms included with FC.  i.e venetian blind, wipes, fly ins, bounces, etc.  Same for text effects.

4. How about being able to designs in a single screen/state with a timeline.  Instead of multi

While importing PSD file into Flash Catalyst, there is no option for selecting particluar Text Layer as Flattern.

There may be a situation he/she can use some text layers as editable and some layers as Flattern. It could be very useful if your team provide an option, so that the user can select particular Text Layer as Flattern and other Text Layers as Editable.

Hope it will add some more value add to Flash Catalyst.

Catalyst should be integrated with Flash IDE. Actually Flash should be able to do what catalyst does now. 

Providing split Code/Design view for real-time editing and design like in dreamweaver.

Please enable the select tool to allow user to simply double-click on a txt field in order to make txt field changes. (see below).

Please consider adding native PNG support from Fireworks. At the moment, designers who develop prototypes in Fireworks choose to this path over Photoshop because of its usability and ease of use for concepts designs.

In order to port Fireworks PNG files into Catalyst, designers must first export the files into a .PSD, or .AI format. As you know, this process is not ideal seeing that it introduces fidelity issues, and can changes the character of the design.

Integrating native PNG support, on top of the current .AI, and .PSD support, will not only ensure the shelf life of Fireworks, but provide a quick alternative to designing rich internet application prototypes for clients.
