Flash Catalyst Ideas
The recent changes for import/export functionality between Catalyst and Builder is a step in the right direction, but what I would like to see is allowing both to work from the same source without the need to import/export. The change would be to allow Catalyst to open (and save back) either an FXP file or a Builder project folder. This way, designers and developers could work from the same source and have a better workflow when integreting with source file repositories.

I like when Flash Catalyst Releasees/Publishes on the web as SWF and on AIR. but u need to add a featue that might intrograte with Device Central. and it should also release it to all Mobile Devices (including: iOS on iPhone & iPad, Android, Blackberry OS, Web palm, Windows Phone, and Symbian). |

Catalyst should be integrated with Flash IDE. Actually Flash should be able to do what catalyst does now. |

First, I want to say Thank You. Your software really helps people to release their creativity and also earn money.
As for the programm, I think that Flash Catalyst is a great project. I was relly encouraged with the things it can do. But one thing I feel lack of in it is the absence of integration between Catalyst and Adobe Flash. For some people (I'm not the exception) it is very difficult to learn programming. And that's the point where Adobe Flash provides me with necessary tools, that will allow me to create animation without the use of code. As for creating some interfaces, galleries - it is much easier to make them in Catalyst rather then in Flash and I was really happy with the way I could do it in Catalyst. It really encouraged me. But I've found out, that if I want to make some more complex animation, Catalyst doesn't give me an ability to do it. And the only programm here that will allow me to make my project more interesting and creative is the Adobe Flash. More... |

I know that Catalyst is a gateway into the programming details that developers enjoy, but I would love to suggest a stronger workflow set borrowed from Adobe Captivate in Catalyst.
My group (in a large 10,000+ company) really understood quickly how to use Captivate to do some interesting things. We did NOT use Captivate for online learning and other main uses for Captivate. We used it to re-create GUI's from some of our products so that people could tour the products through their browser. This was not really a main use for Captivate as the tree/hierarchy view fo the "slides" in Captivate were an absolute mess once we were done....but the product worked, worked well, and people comign from an openoffice/powerpoint background easily understood the notion of linking sections on a "slide" to other slides and vice versa.
We created static GUI's through Captivate, and that kind of ease in Catalyst to dynamic data would be really great. I am not really giving a specific exmaple More... |
