I think that you should be able to code in the code view instead of just view the MXML and Spark tags. If there already is a way to do that I haven't figured it out. So far Flash Catalyst looks like a "design version" of Flex Builder 3 or Flash Builder, only allowing visual components to be exported so Flex code can be integrated into the existing design. The basic parameters that can be set don't really offer a great deal of program control in the application.

Previewing your work via "Run Project" is *VERY* slow, and it's something you do all the time. I did not realize how slow "Run Project" was until I used Flash Builder; it is SO much faster at this!!!

Many times I want to move from one page state to another after a certain amount of time. For example , I want do simulate doing a search so I want to display a "Searching" indicator for a few seconds and then go to a "Search Results" page state. To do this in Flex you can use a timer; it would be great to have a *basic* timer that transitions between states after a specified time.

I made a quick comp to show what this might look like in Catalyst.

I really wish the library had the same kind of functionality as links links do in Indesign. "Go to link" "Relink" "Edit Original" "Reveal in Finder" etc. I know the way Fc works now links are embedded into catalyst so a "Reveal in Finder" wouldn't really make sence, but maybe it could be changed to work more like Indesing in that regard. There could always be the option like in Illustrator to embed the images into the Fc document if desired. At the very least you should be able to open images in photoshop right from the library to make edits without destroying components and transitions that are related to that image.

I know one person already made an idea about Make Same but lets take it a step further and have a Make Same Property Window where you can: 1) choose the object you want to Make Same in other states. 2) choose the properties of that object you want to make same in the other states, and 3) choose the states you want those properties to be changed in.

For me this would be great especially with buttons with a label because lets say I change the font family/style, size and position but I want the color to remain the same on the rollover and down states. I wouldnt have to use Make Same in All States and the change the color back or any other property I didnt want effected. A more complex example would be a Checkbox Component that has 8 states that would have to be modified individually if just a few things needed to be changed.

To elaborate - I know you can undo changes made to text blocks as a whole, however being accostumed to hitting cmd/ctrl + Z every now and then, I will hit it when working in a text field.  Twice now I've made the same mistake and it has reverted my 15 minutes of changes to how it was before.  I wouldn't mind this at all, however, if it were not for the fact that I'm not able to REDO.

So it's like a trap where if I make the error of hitting cmd+Z - it deletes my hard work.  Grrrr.... it's a minor issue, but I imagine it may cause some frustration if it's not addressed somehow.

A lot of times I will set up a transtion, say:

"State A" to "State B"

and want the *inverse* transition to happen for

"State B" to "State A".

Right now you have to do this manually; for complex transitions, this is a pain, ESPECIALLY when tweaking things; you have

to keep track of what you changed in one transition and manually duplicate this in the other. It is very tedious, and it's

something that I do a lot.

maybe it would be nice if Catalyst have pre-made template just like Flash or Dreamweaver, we all know Adobe has many good interface designer..

It would be cool if when adding interactions to a component, you could have more than one "When In" conditions.

Having the name of the asset stay the same when it is optimized or converted to a component would be great!
