Flash Catalyst Ideas
This is a feature, the whole CS5 products can adopt. Name the layers automatically according to the objects placed on that layer. Find out the biggest/alphabetically sorted / generated instance names of objects on that layer, assign that name automatically to the layer, so that we can identify the objects on each layer even without naming the layers manually. ;)
Also this will help us to arrange objects especially in huge animations and websites. |

Well, to be honest I don't know if this idea would make sense, but I definately would appreciate an option to be able to add or import extra layers from your .ai or .psd file.
My problem was as follows: I made my design completely in Illustrator, all in seperate layers so I would only have to turn on/off their visibility in Flash Catalyst for the different pages. However, when I was working in Catalyst, creating several pages and adding interactivity I discovered I had to add a few more additional layers in my original .ai file. So basically, I had make a new .ai file, import it again into Flash Catalyst, and start all over again.
I don't know how it could be done, but it would have been helpfull and a giant time-saver to add those missing layers into Flash Catalyst while I was working on it. Maybe just as an import command or something.
Hope this makes sense to more people.
Cheers, Tom |
