Flash Catalyst Ideas
It should be possible to use an FXPL library exported by Flash Catalyst to be used in another Flash Catalyst project. Right now, the only way is to import that library porject and all assets in there are copied into the new project. So when you change the original, your project is not updated with the new component. |

This is the first time I've used a Flex or Flash program and been able to get going without any directions. Very smart concept, but there are a few essential things that would be very useful and, I believe, appreciated.
* The ability to select unused library items, to clear up unused content. * Being able to right click on a SWF (for example) and "edit in Flash." without having to re-import and redo timeline. * A more intelligent timeline so parts can be converted and swapped (like in Flash) without complication. * Being able to edit the html source in program and/or specify parameters, for example I manually added scrolling:no to mine; this sort of feature should be user friendly and most people expect this sort of thing. Those are the ones that cause me the most grief. :) |

Tags: component interaction library state Hi,
I've been messing around quite some time with Catalyst. It is a very valuable tool, I must say. One of the major blocking points I've run into is the impossibility to control the state of a component's parent. This makes it difficult to design reusable components in libraries, if they can only control their siblings and children. I hope this is clear enough...
