Catalyst and Flash Builder seem to lack the final product rendering features for export to PDF.
Since Acrobat is an Adobe product this seems like a logical, though overlooked integration that is currently lacking.
Why export / generate PDF?
1) Forms and Documents created in SWF applications could be saved to a users local system on completion. Possibly fill out a form while on the road and then email the final file to a home or office location to print, sign and mail for some purpose or another.
2) Product Configurators/Designer apps could save off the final products for the parent company to then produce the purchased product (T-Shirts, Business Cards, Custom designed products, etc).
PDF is designed to retain format integrity across platforms and applications so it seems logical to have it's format available to developers that need to retain integrity of their creations through the full manufacturing / production process.
Possibly an integrated solution of PDF as FXG recreated from XML values saved and reused from a database. This seems to be a missing link / significant oversight that would allow Adobe to better leverage another of it's products into a more complete product cycle for it's users.
