Of the 1.5 million nonprofits in the US, far too few have the resources to keep their Websites up-to-date—which makes keeping potential donors, volunteers, and advocates (particularly the younger, tech-savvy sort) abreast of opportunities to ‘do good’ both costly and inefficient.

This very problem is what inspired Greg McHale, the founder and CEO of good2gether, to build a social-media-enabled Web platform that radically transforms the way people discover and engage with nonprofits.

The platform allows nonprofits to enter information about their events, in-kind donation needs, programs, and volunteer opportunities using a simple Web interface (no technical skills required). It’s free and easy for nonprofits to create and manage their profiles—and they’re able to do so as often as they like.

What makes good2gether truly unique is how it distributes this information—through a network of ‘Do Good™ Channels’ that live on existing high-traffic Websites (Boston.com, SFGate.com,

Pulse LLC and Circuit City Stores, Inc. have launched a unified community and social network unlike any of its kind for connecting manufacturers and store associates in the retail industry.

The partnership, entitled CityPulse, gives manufacturers unprecedented access to communicate their current and future products directly with the sales force in a collaborative learning environment. The system represents a significant change in the standard model of retail communication.  The typical engagement model for retail employees is characterized by a large number of disparate manufacturer websites individually vying for retail employee traffic on their individual web sites.  Using CityPulse, Circuit City associates will be directed to one community f

Goanimate.com.  It’s implications are multi-fold-  in it’s simplest essence- it’s an animation site for the average computer user- no flash required, no advanced skills, just an interest in creating fun cartoons online!  When finished, animations can be embedded into social networks, sent to friends, etc.  Licenses allow users to bring their favorite show characters into their animations….

·         Election time is coming up and users can interact with political characters (we have a partnership in the works with a a political satirist for some webisodes)....

·         From a branding/marketing standpoint- through this entertainment site, users can interact with brands in active ways- it’s essentially free and powerful marketing.

·         From an entertainment standpoint, Historically, only big professional studios can produce great TV- series like animation.  With the licensing deals, GoAnimate is helping all the little guys out

Its not "millions" that have been sold, but the online stores and some brick and mortar stores are quickly selling out of their stock. All because of using (mostly) LinkedIn as a source of social networking contacts. By using LinkedIn in a certain way I've been able to  promote my book "How To Be A Creative Genius (in five minutes or less)" and interact directly with readers. No newsletter or SEO, just good old fashioned online networking.
