So a flip and sarcastic answer from a friend resulted in a feigned question, "Isn't innovation over?" but it got me thinking-- can innovation ever end? As long as we have agile minds, creativity and a passion to fiddle around with things, there will always be innovation. I can see how some technologies and methods get phased out in favor of newer and better techniques. But our history is saved and remembered, many times I feel to keep us moving forward but to also draw inspiration. The past can give us pointers, we learn from our mistakes. I don't think innovation will ever be over, because even in 'mature' markets and with technologies that are good enough, someone will want to change 'good enough' to 'even better'.
