Portfolios are ideally suited to transfer the paper filing schemes of lawyers, consultants etc. to the computer.

I scan all files coming from courts, lawyers etc., and dump them in a case folder. When on an appointment, I convert the case folder and the equivalent Outlook case folder to one big portfolio.

But I cannot put the case portfolio on an iPad and use it as the digital equivalent of a real life folder - lacking a decent portfolio reader, probably due to Flash.

I do not want to hand around my notebook.

I would prefer an additional searchable digital folder.

You might want to check with lawyers, consultants etc. and you'll find, that this would be a very much appreciated app for the iPad, that people would pay for.

Buzzword is very cool, but it would seriously increase the awesome factor if it were easier for me to distribute and deploy my docs.  Here is what I would like to be able to do"

1) In addition to a sharing link, let me copy sharing embed code (much like embedding a YouTube video)

2) When the embded code is placed on an HTML page, it shows an up to the minute view of that document.  So when I change the document in Buzzword, all embedded copies are automatically updated to show that latest version as well.

3) The document viewer should be a simple, but well-featured tool like Flashpaper used to be (zoom in/out, search the document text, jump between pages rapidly, etc.)  It should also allow the viewer to copy the embed code themselves and place the document on their own page.

4) Let me choose in the history panel (or in a similar manner) which version of the document is being pushed out to these viewers*.  That lets me and other team members edit and mess around with a d

I advocate Acrobat.com to all my clients as a way of storing, sharing and collaborating on content. Most are not experienced in IT so they struggle with some basics that us IT folks take for granted.

"Why do I have to send an email to let my colleague read the document"? is a common one.

So indeed, why not be able to give your colleagues read-only access to some or all of your files if you want their views? Well, because they might want to change the content and they do that in their own space. So why not use the Acrobat Reader approach and let them put sticky comments on it for you to edit, delete or accept as you see fit without creating multiple temporary documents in other file systems?

I can understand that I might have multiple clients files in my file space and I don't want one colleague or client to see stuff that's not for them, so that takes us into the ACL space, which might imply using a sledgehammer where one isn't needed. Perhaps a simpler, two-level authentica

Seeing that Acrobat is becoming more and more a hub of collaboration I think that it would be beneficial to have a chat capability as part of the basic functionality of the Acrobat family of products. Maybe the chat client is an AIR application that can tie into Reader and Acrobat to leverage their capabilites when necessary.  An example of this would be functionality enabled by Microsofts chat application which allows the exchangeof files though the chat interface.  For Acrobat users, I'm thinking that people would kick off collaboration sessions like shared review, or 1 to 1 connect sessions by first reaching out to their potential collaboration partner with an Acrobat chat message, then if the other person is ready to engage in collaboraion they could kick off the meeting or the shared review by clicking a button in the Acrobat chat UI.  Incorporating chat into the Acrobat family would also give users the ability to have one less application on their desktops, thereby simplifying th

Open Source file Dialog Box in Acrobat Reader.

The Ability to move from the PDF print file back to the original file openned by explorer file associations.

This helps when hyperlink linking file, wheather to make the pdf the hyperlink ot the orginal document the hyperlink, with this option available in the reader then linking to the pdf also means you have an automatic link to the source file.

Assumptions could be made that the files reside in the same directory, or following the embedded path back to the origianl document.

or the path is the current pdf path and the filename is the current pdf filename but the extension is a wildcard "*" thus allowing you to pick the equivalent file or pass over to the source file manually.

I would like to go back to the same page after closing a PDF. Like a bookmark for a normal book.

An Online Document Reader, with bookmarks (bookmarks history) and a color marker for marking particular section of lines of a document (pdf/doc) will be great. So, that whenever wherever its possible, we can continue with reading from where we stopped last time.

There are a number of templates available with Adobe LiveCycle Designer that are sometimes a great start to forms design but may be invisible to the world of customers who use the Free Adobe Reader but do not design their own forms.

I would like to propose that we create a set of forms that would be made available to the general public that would be pre-Reader Extended and free to use throughout an organization.

These forms would include general use case forms such as a "time sheet", "vacation request", etc.  Any general use cases that we find may help evangelize the use of dynamic fill-and-print & fill-and-submit forms without cannibalizing any Forms or Reader Extensions revenue.

These forms would be available to registered members of Acrobat.com and through Acrobat.com minor customizations may be available such as the corporate logo displayed on the forms and the “return-to” email address.

Acrobat.com would offer the online version of the data extraction & compilation tool
