this is the second time i have embarrassed myself by forgetting that i had a screenshare running in the background after our call was completed. Â it would be very nice to have the border of the shared area glow red or something every so often to remind me that i'm sharing my screen. |

Buzzword is very cool, but it would seriously increase the awesome factor if it were easier for me to distribute and deploy my docs. Here is what I would like to be able to do"  1) In addition to a sharing link, let me copy sharing embed code (much like embedding a YouTube video)  2) When the embded code is placed on an HTML page, it shows an up to the minute view of that document. So when I change the document in Buzzword, all embedded copies are automatically updated to show that latest version as well.  3) The document viewer should be a simple, but well-featured tool like Flashpaper used to be (zoom in/out, search the document text, jump between pages rapidly, etc.) It should also allow the viewer to copy the embed code themselves and place the document on their own page.  4) Let me choose in the history panel (or in a similar manner) which version of the document is being pushed out to these viewers*. That lets me and other team members edit and mess around with a d More... |

I like that reviewers and co-authors can see comments, but I'd also like the ability to have these not be displayed to readers. For me, "Readers" are customers and end users, whereas co-authors are other employees of my company. We might need to make comments and discuss a document in progress without that conversation visible to end users, although the end users are welcome to see the most recent version of the text itself.  This would be as easy as adding a check box to the sharing panel: "Hide comments from Readers?" |

Tags: access collaborate collaboration comment content document files read reader read-only share sharing store I advocate Acrobat.com to all my clients as a way of storing, sharing and collaborating on content. Most are not experienced in IT so they struggle with some basics that us IT folks take for granted.  "Why do I have to send an email to let my colleague read the document"? is a common one.  So indeed, why not be able to give your colleagues read-only access to some or all of your files if you want their views? Well, because they might want to change the content and they do that in their own space. So why not use the Acrobat Reader approach and let them put sticky comments on it for you to edit, delete or accept as you see fit without creating multiple temporary documents in other file systems?  I can understand that I might have multiple clients files in my file space and I don't want one colleague or client to see stuff that's not for them, so that takes us into the ACL space, which might imply using a sledgehammer where one isn't needed. Perhaps a simpler, two-level authentica More... |

Tags: calendar deadline event registration sharing The calendar would allow me to track modifications and deadlines for documents that are being produced as well as provide reminder of reviews that are required from people that I have shared documents with.  Documents and files that are shared could also have deadlines added to them allowing something to be shared with peers or to the public for a limited time only. Special offers, etc. Once a document is expired a link to the "latest version" or "alternate" could be provided.  The calendar feature would provide a widget that could be placed on a personal blog and a facebook application allowing people to view items that you allow access to. The widget and shared calendar would allow the creation and sharing of events that could be registered for. |

Tags: collection multiple sharing If I want to share files with other users, I have to select the file and go through the share process. For multiple files, I have to go through this process for each file I want to share. Being able to share all of the files in a collection or list at once by sharing the collection itself instead of each file one by one would be a major time saver. |

Tags: buzzeord ideas organising sharing It's great that we can now organise our documents into personalised folders but wait.... are we missing something-  My documents live or breathe by my collaborators, my contributors, fellow authors so wouldn't it be great if Buzzword automatically created a folder called Ralph G (each time I hit share) - and that's where a copy/alias of the documents that I share with Ralph live.  It helps if I need to check which ones he is reading and how long he has had them for revisions  It means the buzzword bench top is driven by collaborators  Easily |
