Adobe has great products that at times lack or have subpar features. Collaboration with market leaders will ensure these features are at the forefront of technology. By using APIs, Adobe can integrate the features while letting the market leaders worry about improvments to the features.

 

For Example:

 

SKYPE: Use them to incorporate calling services into Adobe Connect.

GOOGLE: Use them to incorporate file sharing, synchronization, mail and calendar.

I advocate Acrobat.com to all my clients as a way of storing, sharing and collaborating on content. Most are not experienced in IT so they struggle with some basics that us IT folks take for granted. 

 

"Why do I have to send an email to let my colleague read the document"? is a common one.

 

So indeed, why not be able to give your colleagues read-only access to some or all of your files if you want their views? Well, because they might want to change the content and they do that in their own space. So why not use the Acrobat Reader approach and let them put sticky comments on it for you to edit, delete or accept as you see fit without creating multiple temporary documents in other file systems?

 

I can understand that I might have multiple clients files in my file space and I don't want one colleague or client to see stuff that's not for them, so that takes us into the ACL space, which might imply using a sledgehammer where one isn't needed. Perhaps a simpler, two-level authentica

To enable narrators (or anyone who wants to be a narrator) to read out loud from blogs, articles or any published content (print or digital), record and publish their readings in organized fashion making the recording available to anyone, anywhere at anytime. This is like a "mechanical turk" for narrators.

Often, there is a need to create multiple documents linked by the same topic. That link is provided by Collections.

Why not allow a feature to share an entire Collection for collaboration- I know my teams tend to have a bunch of documents. Sharing a Collection would really simplify the collaboration process.

This is a test idea which documents the benefits of collaboration.

 

I think we should have more collaboration tools so that:

  • Associates can communicate more effectively.
  • Associates can share files without emailing.
  • Associates can expand thoughts and ideas.
