One of Excel's most powerful features when analyzing data is to see summary data that is calculated for the filtered data.  For example a simple sales table can be filtered by the filter function. However, currently, any summary data reflects the entire table.  If you were the salesmanager reviewing the performance of your salespeople, you would want to see the summary data for the individuals.
